Catholic Education Commission
I. PREAMBLE
The Archdiocese of Blantyre is one of the eight Catholic Dioceses in Malawi which is situated in the Southern Region of Malawi. The area that engulfs the Archdiocese of Blantyre includes the districts of Blantyre (Rural and Urban), Chiradzulu, Mulanje, Mwanza, Phalombe, Neno and Thyolo.
II. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE EDUCATION COMMISSION
In 1994 the Archdiocese of Blantyre established an Archdiocesan Education Board which later turned into a Commission in 2006. The composition of the Commission comprises representatives of congregations that run educational institutions in the Archdiocese and laity with educational and other relevant experience. Currently the members of the Archdiocesan Education Commission are:

III. PROPRIETORSHIP
The Archdiocese of Blantyre is the sole Proprietor of all Catholic institutions.
The Proprietor delegates its authority for the Educational Institutes to the Archdiocesan Education Board which is responsible for the overall management of the educational institutions.
IV. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE AEC
The Archdiocesan Education Commission was established to coordinate the education activities in the Archdiocese of Blantyre through the Education Secretariat of the diocese in order:
- to provide pupils and students with clear and consistent Christian values in a secure and well disciplined environment.
- to help the pupils and students obtain the best qualifications.
- to equip pupils and students with appropriate skills that build a happy future.
